Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the independent provider that delivers the result service. Newberg Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search entries on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to answer the inquiry.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most hosted services, this site may receive routine server-log data such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. We review that information in aggregate to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or comparable tools may also support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
Technical and contact information is used to operate the service, respond to messages, diagnose errors, measure general traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles from this information.
External Services and Links
Newberg Residents Directory links to public offices, libraries, archives, records portals, and independent search tools. The privacy terms of those destinations control what happens when you submit information there. That includes sponsored search results, which are supplied by an independent company rather than by this service.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and support providers may process the routine log information needed to run the service. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. Information is disclosed in response to valid legal process when required, and not for unrelated purposes.
Keeping Information Secure
The service uses an encrypted connection, and routine logs are retained only for as long as the purposes described here require. There are no user accounts, passwords, or visitor profiles stored by Newberg Residents Directory for someone to access through the service.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent personal information to us, contact us so that it can be deleted.
Privacy Requests and Oregon Law
The Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, ORS 646A.570-646A.589, applies to qualifying private controllers, generally those handling data of at least 100,000 Oregon consumers in a year or 25,000 consumers while receiving more than 25 percent of annual revenue from sales of personal data. It does not apply to public bodies. Where the Act applies, it provides rights subject to its terms, including confirmation and access, correction, deletion, a copy of data, and opt-outs for targeted advertising, data sales, and certain consequential profiling.
Newberg Residents Directory makes no claim that it meets the Act's qualifying-controller thresholds. If you want to ask about information this service holds, use the Contact page. Because the service keeps very little, a request will ordinarily involve the contact mailbox and available server logs. Requests to remove or change public records held by an Oregon state, county, or city custodian must go to that custodian, not to this private reference service.
Policy Revisions
Updates to this policy will appear here. Continued use of the service after a revised version is posted means acceptance of the updated policy.
